Our Journey

Seoul Bread & Brisket is a small catering business run by Korean-American, Hyok Bin "Bill" Song, who brings the love of traditional Korean flavors to beloved American barbeque favorites. Bill loved barbeque back in Korea and realized its greater versatility with the different types of meats used in American barbeque favorites! In the last decade he has experimented with bringing these two nations' flavors together to create a unique dining experience.

As part of his journey to expand his culinary knowledge and discover new avenues, Bill took on the challenge of baking and bread making. After several series of classes at the San Francisco Baking Institue he found himself absorbed in bread making and spent countless days baking bread to perfect his vision. So much so, he had to bring bread to his friends, family, and even some local businesses to offload the sheer amount of excess he was making.

Now equally in love with barbeque and bread, Bill had a revelation! He didn't have to choose between just being a baker or a meats guy. He could be both! What's a barbeque without some carbs after all? He started small with catering events for friends which eventually led to new connections and new opportunities. Now Bill enjoys catering to small private and corporate events while also selling his favorite breads as standalone items.

Seoul Bread & Brisket is the culmination of Bill's love for his homeland flavors, the joy of a family style barbeque, and the warm comfort of a fresh loaf of bread.
